Territory Studio's San Francisco team designed and animated over 120 assets for Bullet Train, Sony's action thriller starring Brad Pitt. The work defined the visual identity, style, and feel of the fictional train company Nippon Speedline (NSL) — with all graphic elements produced bilingually in Japanese and English. A Japanese cultural advisor ensured accuracy across all Japanese characters and design elements.
Station graphics began with the Tokyo train station opening sequence: arrival and departure digital panels, railway maps, signage, no-smoking signs, and NSL branding — a comprehensive suite delivering real navigational information within the film's world.
Inside the train, each carriage was given a distinctive animation and graphic language. The Deluxe car features touchscreen entertainment and menu selection; the Economy and Quiet cars each have their own visual identity and colour space. Bilingual screens display welcome animations, food menus, train speed, upcoming stations, and carriage information.
Beyond functional graphics, Territory created posters, animated commercials, billboards, promotional ads for the fictional Momonga TV show, cockpit technical screens, hospital patient vitals monitors, and news broadcasts — all contributing to a richly detailed world built screen by screen.
