F9: The Fast Saga

Territory Studio joined the Fast and Furious family for this epic blockbuster, working closely with visual effects supervisor Peter Chiang to build screen graphics and UI supporting characters and story beats.

Territory designed a tech-heavy operating system for British computer hacktivist Ramsey — a powerful UI capable of synthesizing large amounts of data and extensive intel, with cool dark blues and orange accents, bespoke geographical content, maps and satellite images relating directly to narrative story points.

A complex animated sequence was created to highlight Project ARIES — a dangerous weapons program capable of controlling the world's advanced weapons systems. The sequence showcases the catastrophic global effect of ARIES when its two halves are joined together.

Highly detailed satellite images featuring photorealistic terrain were created for use across all F9 team screens, with matte painting teams providing extensive clean-up and authentic shadow matching. This is showcased on the RED Hydrogen One phone featured throughout the film.

Everyday in-car UI was also created for regular automobiles, with basic interface controls juxtaposing the complex OS used by the F9 team.
