Territory Studio designed and delivered on-set screen graphics for Foundation, Apple TV+'s epic sci-fi series based on Isaac Asimov's 1940s short stories. Set in the year 12,067 E.I., the series follows mathematician Dr. Hari Seldon's mission to preserve human knowledge and save civilisation as the Galactic Empire declines.
Working closely with the playback and Art departments, Territory created in-camera graphics for screens and projections across multiple sets throughout the first season, including those aboard the spacecraft Deliverance.
Drawing on Asimov's original stories and the visual world established by creators Josh Friedman and David S. Goyer, Territory developed a bespoke visual language to underpin the graphics and integrate with the set designs. Central to this was the creation of a hybrid human-alien typeface — part familiar, part unusual — that anchors the graphic world of the Galactic Empire era.
