Watchmen

Territory Studio provided screen graphics for a number of key sequences in HBO's Watchmen — the adaptation of Alan Moore's iconic graphic novel. Working closely with VFX Supervisor Erik Henry, the studio created multiple screens across ten different scenes throughout the series, including UI, navigation and control screens, and overhead switches for the Owl Ship.

The central design challenge was adapting to the show's distinct vision: blending new flight technology with old, and integrating analogue dials, altimeters, and flight path mechanisms into the HUD display. Territory combined next-generation navigational tools with traditional flight components — altimeters, gyros, gauges, levers and switches — to marry the interfaces with the Owl Ship's mechanical industrial aesthetic.

The screen technology deployed across sets ranged from low-res CRT monitors through custom touchscreen panels to transparent HUD windshields, and Territory's designs were tailored to each environment, resulting in a cohesive but technically varied suite of screen graphics throughout the series.
