Territory Studio crafted the screen graphics for Ridley Scott's epic Alien prequel — a brilliant project that combined deep research with truly original visual thinking.
Ridley Scott's art team turned to Territory for a high-tech look supporting the quest of a super-advanced scientific research facility. Scott was clear that Prometheus was not a recreation of Alien but something altogether different — his creative briefs were loose, but always demanding in final execution, pushing Territory to think outside the normal screen design conventions.
UI concepts across navigation screens, data consoles, medical scanning equipment and HUDs were rooted in research into the latest military and scientific thinking of the day. But the colours, forms and choreography underpinning the visual language were inspired by Scott's references to art, dance, music and the natural world — a collision of worlds that felt truly original and in tune with his vision of the Prometheus universe.
